Registration (GSMU)

Each organization typically has 1-2 “Go Sign Me Up Supervisors” and can schedule staff for PeopleSoft training and run reports to see who is registered. To request Supervisor access, please contact Lori Free-Trout at lfreetrout@sdcoe.net. Supervisor directions are available on this page: GSMU Directions for Supervisors.

Introduction to PeopleSoft

INTRO: Introduction to PeopleSoft for HCM Users
This is a prerequisite course and ideally should be taken prior to any other course. The Intro class explains how to log in to the Portal, launch PeopleSoft applications, navigate, search, and run reports in HCM. We also show you how to personalize PeopleSoft.

Human Resources (HR)

HR1: Salary Administration
This course covers all aspects of adding and updating salary plans. It also explains the salary and job reports that are available and how to run them, such as personnel actions, employees on leave, etc.

HR2: Position Management
This course covers adding and updating different kinds of staff positions, such as hourly, classified and certificated. It also covers the position related reports and how to use them.

HR3: New Hires & Maintaining Job Data
This course covers a wide range of HR department related topics including managing personal information and job data. It also provides information on absence, separations, rehires, and other topics including monitoring health and safety issues and meeting regulatory requirements.

HR5: Department Budget Table (DBT)
This course covers how to use PeopleSoft to enter the Department Budget Table data on a new position (budgets called combination codes for earnings, deductions and taxes), make modifications to DBT data for an existing position, and view encumbrance definitions. NOTE: This course is intended for HR and/or Finance staff responsible for entering/updating the budget for a new or existing position. Typically very few employees per district or charter school handle this task.

Payroll (PR)

PR1: Payroll
This course covers all payroll functionality, including setup tasks related to new employees, deductions, direct deposit, additional pay, tax withholdings, and garnishments. It will also cover reports.

Benefits Administration (BA)

BA1: Benefits Administration
This course covers the day-to-day event maintenance process in Benefits Administration, including troubleshooting and reporting.

Time & Labor / Absence Management

TIM1: Time & Labor and Absence Entry on the Timesheet
This course covers how to use the Timesheet to enter time worked and absences. You will be provided with 3 sample timesheets to learn how to enter data and troubleshoot common issues. If you enter time and not absences (or vice versa) you will have the opportunity to understand what your co-workers enter in the system.

Query

QY1: Query Viewer
This course how to use Query Viewer to run PeopleSoft HCM queries created by the project team as HTML and Excel. You will be exposed to running a variety of HCM queries. This course does not cover creating queries. Currently only the project team creates HCM queries. You must have Microsoft Excel experience to take this class.
