When utilizing the Enter Budget Journals module in PeopleSoft, it is important to note that when entering the date in the Journal Date (as shown below), this will also populate the Fiscal Year field on the budget journal header with the same year fiscal year. For example, entering a journal date of 07/01/14 will reflect on the header tab with Fiscal Year 2015. Remember that the July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015 fiscal year is PeopleSoft Fiscal Year 2015.

If you are entering budgets for next fiscal year by using 07/01/2014 on the Add a New Value tab of the Enter Budget Journals page, you will see Fiscal Year 2015 on the header tab. Once you move to the lines tab, make sure that when entering the Budget Period field, this must also be the same year that is shown in the Fiscal Year field in the header, in our example you would enter 2015. Failure to do so will result in a mismatch and require the entries to be reversed and corrected.

Please see the illustrations below for an example.
