Calling all query users! The CRC has published a new guide called Excel & PeopleSoft Queries Guide v1.1.pdf (22 pp.). This guide is intended to illustrate how you can use Excel to get the most out of queries. It provides real-life examples of how school district employees are using Excel with PeopleSoft, based on feedback from a countywide survey conducted in September 2017. Examples include subtotaling, pivot tables, vlookups, macros, conditional formatting, mail merge (into Word), text-to-columns, concatenate, and other formulas. Please understand that this guide is not intended to teach you how to use Excel. We have provided several resources on the last page of the guide if you would like to learn more about how to use Excel.

Guide contents:
  • p.1: Overview
  • pp.2-3: Basic Descriptions of Excel Functions
  • pp.4-11: Survey Feedback: Excel with HCM Queries
  • pp.12-16: Survey Feedback: Excel with Finance Queries
