NEW

Effective Monday, June 19, 2017, the Effective Date will default to blank on 6 HCM screens: Add a Person, Personal Data, Personal Information, Add Employment Instance, Job Data, and Job Data/Time Reporter Data. The reason for this change is due to the many data entry Effective Date errors made requiring intervention from the CRC. The intent is for the user to take deliberate action to enter the date rather than allowing the system to default to today’s date.

Example: On Job Data when you click the + sign to add a new row, the Effective Date will be blank as shown below. Previously, each of these screens defaulted to the current date.
Effective Date field is blank

These are the navigations to the screens with the change to the Effective Date field:
  1. Add a Person: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Personal Information > Add a Person

  2. Job Data upon clicking “Add Relationship” from the Add a Person screen: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Personal Information > Add a Person > Personal Data (NOTE: This is the navigation that is displayed after you click Add Relationship – you are actually using the Job Data screen but the breadcrumb says “Personal Data.”)

  3. Job Data: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data > Find an Existing Value tab

  4. Job Data/Time Reporter Data: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data > Employment Data Link > Time Reporter Data Link

  5. Personal Information: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Personal Information > Personal Information > Find an Existing Value

  6. Add Employment Instance: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Add Employment Instance

In the near future, this change will be implemented on additional HCM screens. Please look for a future announcement with more information.
