The CRC has created an HCM Query Reference Guide for staff who use Query Viewer in PeopleSoft HCM. It is a compilation of queries used in the different PeopleSoft HCM modules: Absence Management, Benefits, HR, Payroll, and so on. It contains query descriptions, fields, and screenshots of parameters and results.

TIP: We highly recommend that you use the HCM Query Reference Guide electronically (PDF) rather than printing it. Check out our August Third Thursday Demo for tips on using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to make use of the navigation pane (icons, bookmarks, arrow on left side of screen, F4 to see the pane, Bookmark view) and search tools.

Here is a sample page:

HCM Query Reference Guide Sample Page

1 - Query Name. The query name is displayed at the top of the page. You can search Query Viewer by query name.

2 - Previous Query Name.
Some queries were renamed so that they follow the naming convention of M_“Module name”. Name changes are listed so user can do a search by previous query name.

3 - Query Description. The query description is displayed below the name. This provides information about the query results.

4 - Special Instructions. Some queries have special instructions.

5 - Parameters. Parameters are provided as a sample. Where no parameters are shown, none are needed.

6 - Results. Results samples are useful for seeing the fields that are included in the query.

7 - Fields listed in query.
These are the column headers from the query results.
