How to enroll in “Password Reset” for the SDCOE Service Portal

Calling all SDCOE Service Portal users! Please take a moment to complete Password Reset Enrollment by answering three security questions. If you forget your SDCOE Service Portal password in the future, you will be able to easily reset it yourself.

Password Reset Enrollment

NOTE: You must complete these steps in order to use the “Forgot Password” link.
  1. Go to the SDCOE Service Portal at https://service.sdcoe.net.
  2. Log in.
  3. From the Homepage, click the blue EBS button.
  4. Click ServiceNow Password Reset Enrollment (last item on the list).
  5. Pick 3 security questions and provide answers for all three. Answers must be at least 4 characters. Answers are not case-sensitive. Sample questions:
    • What is the name of the company of your first job?
    • What was the make and model of your first car?
    • What was the first concert you attended?
  6. Click Submit.
  7. You will see this message: "Enrollment Success. You are now enrolled."
    • In the future, if you forget your password you can click “Forgot Password” to receive a new temporary password.

How to Reset Your Password

NOTE: You must have selected and answered the 3 security questions (Password Reset Enrollment) in order to use this feature.
  1. Go to the SDCOE Service Portal at https://service.sdcoe.net.
  2. Click the “Forgot Password?” link (below the login area).
  3. Enter your email address. Click Next.
    • Why doesn’t it accept my email address? Either you entered your email address incorrectly OR you did not submit answers to the 3 security questions.
  4. Answer the 3 security questions.
    • Answers are not case sensitive. Example: If your answer was entered as “Ford Focus” (proper case), the system will accept “ford focus” (lowercase).
  5. You will be asked to enter your email address again.
  6. Click the blue Reset Password button.
  7. You will receive a “Password Reset Success” message. Click Done. Check your email inbox. An email will be sent to you from “IT Service Desk” with a temporary password.
    • Why is it failing? You can only change the password once in a 24-hour period.
