Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Family Act of 2014 (AB 1522) - PLEASE READ

PeopleSoft has been configured to support districts to be in compliance with the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Family Act of 2104 by accruing sick leave.

Tracking and Accruals
  • People Soft will track the number of days required to meet the one-time 90 day requirement.
  • Each fiscal year People Soft will also track 30 work days to begin accruing after completion of the 30 work days.
  • Sick leave will be accrued at the rate of one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked. Hours for temporary employees are counted from Payable Time.  Certificated substitute hours are linked to hours recorded with C Days.
  • A temporary or substitute employee can accrue up to 24 hours each fiscal year. Accruals can carry over to another fiscal year, but may not exceed 48 hours.
  • Sick leave hours that are accrued will appear on the employees’ pay stub or pay advice. Queries will be available for districts to track accruals.
Directions for Hiring New Temporary or Substitute Employees
When hiring new Temporary or Substitute employees, you will need to enroll them in Absence Management. in the Absence Management Section enter a Pay Group. The Pay Group is your three digit district number and either TEMP or SUB. NOTE: Do not add Accrual Hours Factor as they are determined through the initial configuration.

Navigation: Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data > Payroll 

1. Navigate to Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data > Payroll 
2. Enter a Pay Group in the Absence Management System area. This will be the three digit district number and TEMP or SUB. For example, 099TEMP.
