Change to PeopleSoft password resets - Do not click the “Password Expired” checkbox before updating the password

For users with the M_SECURITY_LEVEL1 role

There is a change in how you reset PeopleSoft passwords. Do not click the “Password Expired” checkbox before updating the password! This change was introduced with the Tools Upgrade that occurred in July 2017. These new steps are documented in v2.0 of the Password Reset guide which was emailed on November 14, 2017 to all users with the M_SECURITY_LEVEL1 role.

You now need to save twice, like this:
  • Click the Change Password checkbox. Enter the temporary password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields. Click Save.
  • Click the Password Expired checkbox (this forces the employee to enter a new password upon login). Click Save.
